WHO IS A CAMPUS LIAISON?

Campus Liaisons Recruit and Hire Peer Mentors. The liaison identifies students with the academic and leadership skills to be a Mentor. Assist in the recruitment of CREAR Mentees and support engagement.

lIAISON TASKS FOR SUCCESS

  • Distribute and advertise information about the program to the Latinx student body to ensure that students are aware of and express interest in participating.
     

  • Pair Peer Mentors with students that can most benefit the program.
     

  • Pay close attention to potential mentee needs regarding social services, tutoring, financial aid, and/or other supports.
     

  • Attend Monthly Mentor Meetings hosted by Hispanic Federation.
     

  • Share practices, policy, procedures, and data (student academic progress and levels of satisfaction) with the Education program staff.
     

  • Work towards intended outcomes: Increase retention and graduation rates by 40%; Increase GPA by .5 points; increase course completion rates by 25%; Increase transfer rates by 15% for participants compared to non-participants.
